There is a bowel loop in the mid-abdomen which contains granular material (red arrows). No feces is observed in the terminal colon. There are several small intestinal loops which contain air, and are in the upper limit of the normal size (see case number 1- discussion). This could indicate partial obstruction due to a linear foreign body versus adhesions due to the previous surgery. It is hard to determine whether there is an obstruction, since it is difficult to determine whether the granular material is in the colon or the small intestines. |
