In all view there are alveolar infiltrates within the right caudal lung field.
These are viewed as air-bronchograms and seen best on the VD view, and better demonstrated on the left lateral view comparing to the right lateral view (why? see the discussion of case number 12) (red arrows).
On the right lateral view there are infiltrates visible in the area of the accessory lung lobe (the triangular area behind the caudal border of the heart and ventral to the caudal vena cava)
The VD view is rotated, confusing with a mediastinal shift (which is not a real finding here, but a result of the obliquity ).
The heart and pulmonary vessels are normal.
Differential diagnoses:
Aspiration pneumonia
infectious pneumonia
hemorrhage
non cardiogenic pulmonary edema
Diagnosis:
CBC revealed severe thrombocytopenia.
After ruling out other causes of thrombocytopenia the diagnosis of immune mediated thrombocytopenia was made.
